Argh.

I felt like I should update my journal. Not that I have a whole lot to say. Main points:

  • dA should allow music submission.

  • "They" is a viable genderless third-person singular pronoun.

  • If you try not to end your clauses with weird dangly prepositions, then you are often forced to use what turns out to be highly creative and expressive word choice to rescue yourself halfway through a sentence.

  • Heuristics are an acceptable (if a tad dirty) approach to problem-solving.

  • LESS MUDKIPZ

  • /b/ is a scary, scary place.

Thank you, thank you.

I agree on the music, although I'd probably not use it as much as I should. I'm too lazy. I've got some awesome musical ideas jotted down around the place, and some awesome techie lets-make-a-new-musical-electronic-instrument-thing ideas too. And yet I never get round to it. Oh well.

second point, Je suis d'accord.

third, I have no idea
fourth, see response to point the third
fifth, MUDKIPZPLZ
sixth, very very true.
seventh, I still don't get how people can drown in molasses.
:iconevincarofautumn:
Ha. I know the feeling. That's where I was a few years ago, before I started actively working on musical projects.

Second, merci.

Third and fourth, too bad.

Fifth, NO WAI. LESS MUDKIPZ.

Sixth, especially on Fridays.

Seventh, it's easier when it hits you at 55 km/h.

:icondeep-brown:
Heh. Yeah, I see what you mean.

Second, Pas probléme.

Third and fourth, any explanations?

Fifth, YESWAI. MUDKIPZ.

Sixth, I avoid the place on the whole. How about caturdays?

Seventh, I see your point there.
:iconevincarofautumn:
You really should, though! It's always fun to have a completed project that you and others can enjoy.

All right.

Maybe not; I just apply it while speaking. Heuristics!

FIEN.

Mmm. Caturdays.

Yeah. Ouch.

Like I should practise my programming et cetera

Hm. Can you think of an alogrithm to detect spikes in data?

NON.

=P

definitely.
:iconevincarofautumn:
Yep. You should. I'm not going to keep saying it.

Sure. Encode each sample relative to the previous one. You'll end up with big runs of low numbers where the data don't change much, and large numbers where there are spikes. You just have to go through and find maxima. Only two passes! It's a technique used for the Fast Fourier Transform.

I SAYD FIEN. UR DOING IT WRONG.

:D

You're right, of course.

Thanks :) Except, well, some of the non-spikes in the data I have have quite large differences in between the samples. :/ But, I reckon I could use a modification of that which might work, we'll see. :)

You should be on MSN more.
